Would you caravan in a tree?

Yes, you read that right. Would you spend the night in a caravan that is hoisted in a tree 12ft 6inches above the ground? Well if you did want to give it ago, we've found the perfect accommodation for you.

In Rhynie Scotland in the middle of 30,000 acres of the Clashindarroch forest, there is a tree with a caravan in it that is being rented out at just £17 per night. The 1960s touring caravan was hoisted into the tree as a location for the film 'Two years at Sea'. With limited amenities, the Bogancloch Treehouse is the perfect place for anyone who wants to escape 21st Century technology and go back to basics. And we mean really basic.

No Wi-Fi, intermittent reception, no streetlights within 5 miles, no mains electricity, no shower, basically all modern technology we have come to rely on won't be found here. But instead it offers beautiful views, star gazing like no other, with the possibility of seeing the northern lights (if the sky is clear). Breath taking scenic hiking routes, and if it rains you can relax in the caravan to the sound of rain trickling on its tin roof. There is an outdoor kitchen with a log fire, so you can wrap up warm and eat your dinner by firelight. Paraffin lanterns are provided, so you can light up the little caravan in a warm glow whilst you snuggle down in the warmth of the double bed.

Reading the reviews for this accommodation is a real pleasure. Everyone speaks so highly of the owner Jake, and how getting away from technology was a real treat. The accommodation has a 4.5 star rating at the time of writing this article, and over 80 reviews nearly all of which speak of how they would strongly recommend the experience and they would love to go again.

We want to know your thoughts. Does this sound like a holiday trip you would be willing to take? Or does this sound like your worst nightmare? Personally we think it would be an exciting adventure, although on the whole we prefer our caravans firmly on the ground.
