7 best Halloween outfits!

Our event insurance team is gearing up for one of the busiest times of the year - Halloween followed by Guy Fawkes Night. Event insurance protects organisers and participants from the fall-out from all sorts of accidents and specifically protects organisers who might get sued if something goes wrong.

On a lighter note, Halloween is now branching out into a wider fancy-dress occasion, not necessarily scary. We've taken a look round at some of the funnier fancy dress outfits you could recreate, or just laugh at!

  1. Riding a Jet-Pack
  2. Pop Art Make-Up
  3. Gingerbread Man
  4. Genie on a Flying Carpet
  5. Roller Coaster
  6. Bunch of Grapes
  7. Fifty Shades of Grey

Riding a Jet-Pack

Quite a hard one to start with and no instructions either, but it shouldn't be too difficult to work out how to do it, it's just quite a lot of work. Like most of these ideas here it can be used by men, women or children.

Pop Art Make-Up

Painstaking to apply, but you can guarantee you'll be the only ones at the party with this look! Based on an extreme version of Roy Lichtenstein's pointillism we've got instructions from no less a publication than the Telegraph.

Gingerbread Man

This is one of our favourites, because it's easy and it's a play on words. Of course you might have to dye your hair to suit the joke, but that's the dedication you need. Also the original wasn't done for a Halloween party so we're cheating a bit too.

Genie on a Flying Carpet

Another one that's going to need quite a lot of construction and you can really only use it once. Having said that it's going to really throw people and the creator has kindly provided instructions for us.

Roller Coaster

One for a large group of people or a whole family, and you'll have to practise moving in a coordinated fashion too! But it looks like a lot of fun.

Work this one out!

Bunch of Grapes

A quick and cheap one now, for when you're in a hurry, all you'll need to find is a load of balloons that are purple and green. Guaranteed to attract the oh-so-funny party-goers who'll pop all your balloons, so be careful what you wear underneath.

Fifty Shades of Grey

To end on, this is another 'pun' fancy-dress outfit. Just like the Gingerbread Man it appeals to our sense of humour. And despite the title, it's completely safe to click through to see the details.

So those are our seven favourites, and not a vampire or ghoul in sight. If you are going to a Halloween party we hope we've given you some decent ideas and if we haven't featured yours, email in and let us know, with a picture if you have one - just reply to the newsletter email.
