Calling all foodies! If you're a food lover, then this is definitely a weekend for you. Get your diaries out and pencil it in for the weekend of the 29th April - 1st May.
Now in its 14th year, the Exeter Food and Drinks Festival attracted around 20,000 visitors in 2016!
Who, Where and Why?
Founded by two times Michelin star award winning chef, Michael Caines MBE, the festival began as a place to celebrate the local food and farming community of the South West. Year on year attendance has grown, and now people from all over the country travel to Exeter to attend this fantastic event.
The weekend is hosted inside the famous Exeter Castle courtyard and the surrounding Northernhay Gardens, right in the centre of Exeter.
Castle Courtyard:
It is here you can enjoy live music from local musicians and bands, whilst sipping on a drink from the Festival Bar. Later you can indulge in some delicious street food from one of the many stalls available. During the evening Exeter Castle will host three fabulous 'After Dark Music Festivals' a perfect way to spend the evening with friends.
Northernhay Gardens:
Fancy some cookery lessons, or perhaps some shopping? Perfect! Because it's here that you will find the Festival Cookery Theatre, 2 Large Food Pavilions and outdoor catering stalls featuring over 100 individual producers selling a mouth watering array of food and drink.
Sponsored by Topsham favourites Darts Farm, the popular Food is Fun Teepees have returned to the festival with an exciting line-up of workshops, artisan producers and culinary experts over the long weekend.
