If you're based in the South West and want to grow your business, a visit is well worth considering.

Bigger and better

It's the sixth time this annual event has been held and it gets bigger and better every year so the organisers are obviously doing something right.

Backed by business and trade website thebestof Exeter the show is free to attend and offers people a chance to find out what's going on in the region, what help they can get to grow their businesses and network with like-minded business people.

The event is also supported by Exeter City Council, whose CEO and Growth Director, Karime Hassan, said: "I never cease to be surprised by the number of successful businesses in this area, the levels of innovation and enterprise, and the spirit of cooperation across all sectors. Exeter City Council is proud .... to host 'probably the largest Business Expo in the South West' at the Westpoint Arena, Exeter in 2018."

Practical help and advice

As well as exhibitions, seminars and workshops there'll be specific networking opportunities, including speed networking and a networking cafe.

Last year's event saw over 2,000 visitors come to see over 150 exhibition stands and the organisers, based on activity so far, are expecting over 3,000 people and over 250 stands at this year's event.

Act fast if you want to exhibit

If you think it would be good to be an exhibitor, at the time of writing many of the medium-sized stands had already sold out. But it may be worth enquiring to see if you can get a late entry or take advantage of a cancellation.

The businesses that have already committed to stands cover a very wide variety, from catering firms to big banks, office equipment suppliers to holiday and tourism operations. It really will be a great opportunity to see the breadth and depth of the region's business sector first hand.

Charity support

Each year the event supports a charity and this year's chosen beneficiary is the Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) which offers hospice care for children in the region. Over the past twenty-five years or more the charity has raised money to open and run a chain of children's hospices covering Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire.

The event is free to delegates who pre-register and people who turn up on the day are requested to donate a small sum to the charity fund.
