London Cruise Show 2017
Chris Hogan, 1st February 2017, Boat
Are you seeing a lot of interest around cruise holidays but are unsure whether it's right for you? Well, a trip to the London Cruise Show might be just the ticket.
Held at Olympia over the weekend of 18th-19th February 2017, the show features talks and Q&A sessions alongside a vast exhibition featuring major cruise operators and all the other companies you can think of with an interest in this growing market.
Everything under one roof
The show isn't just for novices. Those who've already tried cruises will have a good idea of what they liked and didn't like, so the show is an ideal opportunity to seek out the perfect trip for 2017.
As well as the exhibition there is a whole series of talks from industry experts and journalists who will share their knowledge and tips. Topics on offer so far are:
- Cruising for Newcomers
- Amazing Cruise Destinations
- A Guide to Luxury Cruising
- Cruising Down the River
- Adventure and Expedition Cruising
- Check out the "Ask the Experts Theatre" timetable on the show website to make sure you don't miss the talks you're interested in.
The Theatre will also host sessions by major cruise companies. Those booked so far are:
- Saga Cruises
- Azamara Club Cruises
- Celebrity Cruises
- Oceania Cruises
- Princess Cruises
- Crystal Cruises
- Cruise and Maritime Voyages
- Viking Cruises
- Regent Seven Seas Cruises
- Fred Olsen
At these sessions you'll get the chance to find out everything you want to know but can't get from the internet or glossy brochures.
Not just behemoths
If you are in the 'not sure if it's for me' camp you'll be interested to hear that the show doesn't just cover the mammoth ships, with shopping malls and thousand-seat theatres, that shuttle around the Med and the Caribbean.
The organisers are keen to point out that there are many much smaller vessels and companies at the show - where you're more likely to get personal attention and be able to influence the itinerary. These craft can access areas that are off-limits to the giants, travelling up rivers and lesser-known waterways for unique experiences.
Is the time right?
One thing is certain. As cruise holidays get more popular, competition is increasing which means prices are getting keener.
If you're thinking that the time might be right, a trip to the London Cruise Show will be very worthwhile.
